Google reviews are the new word of mouth. 93% of consumers say online reviews influence their purchasing decisions, and Google uses review quantity, quality, and recency as ranking factors.
Why Most Businesses Struggle
The problem isn’t that customers don’t want to leave reviews – it’s that they forget, or it feels like too much effort. Your job is to make it effortless and timely.
The Review Generation System
1. Create a Direct Review Link
Go to your Google Business Profile, click “Ask for reviews,” and copy the link. This takes customers directly to the review form – no searching required.
2. Ask at the Right Moment
The best time to ask is immediately after a positive interaction. Just finished a great project? Customer loved their meal? Send the link within 24 hours while the experience is fresh.
3. Make It Personal
A personal message works 3x better than an automated email. “Hi [name], we loved working with you on [project]. If you have 30 seconds, a Google review would mean the world to us: [link]”
4. Respond to Every Review
When potential customers see that you respond to reviews, they’re more likely to leave one themselves. Thank positive reviewers specifically and address negative reviews professionally.
5. Display Reviews on Social Media
Sharing your reviews as social media content serves two purposes: it acts as social proof for your audience, and it reminds other customers to leave their own review.
Aim for 2-3 new reviews per week. Within six months, you’ll have a review profile that dominates your local competitors.
